The New Brighton Tower Wirral's lost wonder once stood in 19th century New Brighton looking out across the Mersey. In 1896 work began on the tower grounds and a year later work commenced on the actual frame work of the building. The company tasked with creating this marvel was "Maxwell & Tuke" who were already famed for creating Blackpool tower.

The fairground contained many amusing thrills including Merry-go rounds, a Steam Railway, a Big Top & Circus tent, Hobby Horses, Side Shows, Clowns, Jugglers, Brass Bands, Dancing and even a Big Wheel which gave panoramic views across the area.

May 27, 2012 · A Memory of New Brighton. I remember well the fairground with all the rides that did their best to make you sick after the hotdogs and the candyfloss. Who got a kiss in the ghost train or at least a cuddle from their girlfriend? Everywhere the smell of food and the constant music playing so loud.
