Opinions - Supreme Court of the United States
The most well-known opinions are those released or announced in cases in which the Court has heard oral argument. Each opinion sets out the Court’s judgment and its reasoning and may include the majority or principal opinion as well as any concurring or dissenting opinions.
About the Court - Supreme Court of the United States
The Court is the highest tribunal in the Nation for all cases and controversies arising under the Constitution or the laws of the United States. As the final arbiter of the law, the Court is charged with ensuring the American people the promise of equal justice under law and, thereby, also functions as guardian and interpreter of the Constitution.
Justices - Supreme Court of the United States
Nine Justices make up the current Supreme Court: one Chief Justice and eight Associate Justices. The Honorable John G. Roberts, Jr., is the 17th Chief Justice of the United States, and there have been 104 Associate Justices in the Court’s history.

Users can search for the docket in a particular case by using a Supreme Court docket number, a case name, or other words or numbers included on a docket report. The format for Supreme Court docket numbers is "Term year-number" (e.g., 21-471; 22-5301).
Current Members - Supreme Court of the United States
President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., appointed her to the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in 2021 and then nominated her as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court in 2022.
Opinions of the Court - 2022 - Supreme Court of the United States
Slip opinions remain posted until replaced with opinions edited to reflect the usual publication style of the United States Reports, including final pagination that will carry forward unchanged in the corresponding preliminary prints and the bound volumes of the United States Reports.
Visiting the Court - Supreme Court of the United States
The Supreme Court Building is open to the public Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is closed on weekends and all federal holidays. In addition to the Courtroom, portions of the first and ground floors of the Supreme Court Building are open to the public.

Oral Arguments - Supreme Court of the United States
The Court holds oral argument in about 70-80 cases each year. The arguments are an opportunity for the Justices to ask questions directly of the attorneys representing the parties to the case, and for the attorneys to highlight arguments that they view as particularly important.
