Rocket Raccoon, commonly referred to simply as Rocket, is a fictional character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) media franchise voiced by Bradley Cooper and based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.

Rocket joined the Avengers on their trip to the Garden, where he witnessed Thor decapitate Thanos. Rocket spent the next five years as a member of the Avengers under the command of Natasha Romanoff.

Apr 24, 2019 · Rocket and Groot have been together for as long as anyone can remember, and spend just about all of “Avengers: Infinity War” fighting side by side. The two accompany Thor to Nidavellir where he forges a new weapon, Stormbreaker, with Groot supplying the handle for it.

With Stormbreaker capable of opening the Bifrost, Rocket accompanied Thor and Groot to Earth, joining the battle fought by Black Panther, his Wakandan forces, and several Avengers members and allies against Thanos’ legion of followers.

Rocket plays a pivotal role in subsequent films, including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019), where he contributes to the overall battle against the villains.

As the weapons and tactical expert of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Rocket risks his hide to defend the cosmos. Ain’t no thing like Rocket, ‘cept Rocket. He lives for the simple things, including collecting valuable bounty alongside his friend and partner, Groot.

He appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (2022 television film), and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023).

Rocket was an ordinary raccoon who was abducted by the High Evolutionary, who cybernetically-enhanced him in an early in creating the perfect species to live on Counter-Earth. Originally designated as Subject: 89P13, the racoon dubbed himself "Rocket."
