Former Purdue superstar Zach Edey received NBA All-Rookie honors after averaging 9.2 points, 8.3 rebounds per game in his first year with the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Memphis Grizzlies featured two of the NBA's most impressive rookies throughout the 2024-25 season. Two-time National Player of the Year Zach Edey landed with the Grizzlies as the No. 9 overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft following his stellar collegiate career with the Purdue Boilermakers.
San Antonio Spurs guard Stephon Castle was the only unanimous first-team selection on the NBA All-Rookie team Tuesday. He was joined by Memphis teammates Jaylen Wells and Zach Edey of Toronto, among others.
Zach Edey averaged 9.2 points and 8.3 rebounds for the Grizzlies. Kel'el Ware averaged 9.3 points and 7.4 rebounds for the Heat.
At Purdue, Edey was known for his dominance inside, and he brought that same physicality to the NBA. He averaged 9.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, shooting an efficient 58% from the field and an impressive 34.6% from 3-point range, a rare skill set for a player of his size.
