VFW Post 124 in Beaverton hosts a ceremony to honor the service and sacrifice of the U.S. Armed Forces. The event includes live music, a military aircraft flyover, and a POW/MIA ceremony. Seating is first come, first served.

As Memorial Day weekend kicks off, Oregon drivers will see slightly higher gas prices, though still much lower than this time last year.

Of the 617,000 Oregonians estimated to travel throughout the next several days, about 506,000 of them will be driving.

Weekend signals the unofficial start to summer, but high gas prices have people paying more for their holiday travel.

There’s a 30% chance of showers moving in after 11 p.m. Sunday night and a 40% chance of showers Monday morning before 11 a.m. Otherwise, Memorial Day will be partly sunny with a high around 71 degrees. We could see the warmest temperatures of the year so far later in the week. Wednesday is expected to reach 92 degrees.

Events this Memorial Day honoring fallen service members include parades, concerts, flag placements and the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall.
