SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, PENNSYLVANIA— Fresh off a thrilling win over defending 2024 LLWS champion Lake Mary in the Southeast Regional final, Irmo LL of South Carolina cruised past Braintree LL of Massachusetts — the New England Region champion — 13-0 in one-hit fashion in each team’s Williamsport opener on Thursday.

The Braintree Little League team suffered its first loss of the summer Thursday, falling 13-0 to Irmo, South Carolina in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

The top 20 Little League teams from around the globe enter Williamsport, aiming to become the 2025 Little League World Series champions.

Braintree is buzzing with pride as its Little League team competes in the World Series for the first time, uniting the town in celebration and anticipation.

Brady Westbrooks hit a three-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning Wednesday as Irmo, the South Carolina champions, rallied to defeat defending Little League World Series champ Lake Mary (Fla.) 5-4 in a game played in Warner Robins, Georgia.

Braintree, Massachusetts (New England) will meet Irmo, South Carolina (Southeast) in the second round of the Little League Baseball World Series. New England and Southeast face off Thursday at 3 p.m. ET, with the winner’s next game set for Monday and the loser’s for Saturday.

Before their first game of the Little League World Series, the kids from Braintree received an encouraging message from members of the Boston Red Sox.

The Irmo All-Stars, winners of the Little League's Southeast Regional, play New England Regional champion Braintree American at 3 p.m. Thursday at Lamade Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The game will air on ESPN and be streamed on the ESPN App.
