Chris Townsend, who works for the Athletics postgame show, scoffed at the idea of Rodriguez being a superstar after he hit a game-winning home run on Sunday.

Julio Rodríguez hit a towering 438-foot, two-run homer in the sixth to give Seattle the lead and Bryan Woo pitched six dominant innings and the Mariners beat the Athletics 2-1 on Sunday. Rodríguez’s go-ahead home run gave the Mariners offense a much-needed boost.

It's an encouraging sign for the 24-year-old Rodriguez, who's looking to rebound power-wise from a down 2024 -- he hit 20 home runs while posting a .734 OPS in 613 plate appearances.
