A team spokesperson said the Astros notified both the Houston Police Department and Major League Baseball security about the threats made at Lance McCullers Jr. and his family.

Lance McCullers Jr., making his second start since 2022, is pulled after 36 pitches in first inning against Cincinnati Reds.

Astros manager Joe Espada was upset with what McCullers saw on social media: "It really drives me nuts. It’s very sad. Very, very sad.”
