When you tap it, Gemini uploads whatever is on your screen to Gemini Live, where the conversation begins. You can also use this feature if you want to show your screen to Gemini later in a conversation, like if you want to explain or set up parameters first.

Following last week’s announcement, we are now seeing Gemini’s new “Talk Live about this” capability on the Pixel 9

According to an Android Authority report, the new Gemini Live activation change was added to the Google app version 16.2.39. It is currently not live in the current version, but the publication found it during an Android application package (APK) teardown process. This means that users will not be able to try out the shortcut until it rolls out.
