Flight attendants at both regional and legacy airlines say they're frustrated by what they call low wages and long-standing airline practices of not paying them during the boarding process.

Air Canada and the union representing 10,000 flight attendants resumed talks late Monday for the first time since the strike began over the weekend. The strike is affecting about 130,000 travelers a day at the peak of the summer travel season.

The strike, which ended on Tuesday, focused attention on why many airlines don’t start paying flight attendants until the plane doors are shut.
