A second winter storm will arrive in Central Virginia Friday, while roads still remain icy and residents are still dealing with a water crisis. Some local school districts are choosing to close or delay their openings in the face of these challenges.

Due to the threat of winter weather and possibility of unsafe road conditions Friday, several schools in central Alabama have announced they will be closed or having virtual learning. The following schools will be closed Friday or having a virtual learning day: Alabama School of Fine Arts Alabaster City Schools Bessemer
