Sewald was placed on the 60-day injured list and won’t return from a shoulder strain until September. Montero and Finnegan will join the Tigers in Philadelphia on Friday. The Tigers still need to remove one player from the active roster to accommodate the new additions.

The Rangers traded right-handed pitcher Codi Heuer to the Detroit Tigers in exchange for cash considerations Thursday afternoon. Heuer, 29, pitched in just one game for the Rangers this season and had a 3.43 ERA in 39 1/3 innings at Triple-A Round Rock.
