Lighter carbon-fiber parts, added muscle everywhere, and a top speed that trips a limiter at 186mph are the highlights of BMW’s upcoming M3 CS Touring xDrive. And it’s something BMW has never done before. Sure, the Bavarian automaker has made a few M3 wagons in its time, but it’s never made a CS range-topping version before.

The front end remains a “love it or hate it” feature with the extended kidney grilles, but the rest of the M3 CS Touring is sharp looking. Far from looking like a mundane station wagon, the M3 CS Touring adds carbon fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) parts and additional performance with an extended roof.

BMW is expanding its legendary CS package to the wagon version of the M3, which is not sold in the United States. This high-output wagon uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged I6 to send 543 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic before hitting the xDrive AWD system.

Where that 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder produces 523hp in the not-at-all-regular Competition, it now makes 542hp and 650Nm of torque, allied to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive for rapid acceleration and speed.

Wagon fans and enthusiasts rejoice! Following in the footsteps of the M2 CS pocket rocket, the hardcore M3 CS and the excellent M4 CS, BMW is adding another track-focused CS model to its portfolio. Witness the M3 CS Touring, a lighter and more powerful version of the brand’s M3 Touring wagon.

For the first time BMW has revealed a new model in Australia, taking the covers off the sharper M3 CS Touring in Bathurst.

The M3 CS Touring is expected to follow the same formula as the M3 CS sedan that was sold in 2024, which means extra power and less weight.
