Microsoft’s Copilot app for Windows is being “unintentionally uninstalled” on some Windows 11 devices thanks to the latest monthly Windows update. The Patch Tuesday updates that started rolling out on March 11th have led to Copilot being unpinned from the taskbar and uninstalled.

A recent Windows update can actually remove Microsoft's Copilot assistant from the OS. As the company promotes generative AI to the public, Redmond accidentally introduced a software bug last week that can delete the Copilot program from PCs running Windows 10 or 11.

Those of you who ran Microsoft's latest Windows 11 update last week may have noticed at least one change. Copilot has vanished. Rolled out on March 11 for this month's Patch Tuesday, KB5053598 was designed to squash several outstanding bugs and add a few new features for Windows 11.
