United Airlines has received clearance to offer Starlink Wi-Fi service on regional jets starting next month. The service will be free for members of the carrier’s frequent flyer program. Other aircraft models will have to wait a while longer as the companies are still in the process of getting FAA approval for those jets.

United Airlines said the FAA has approved its first Starlink-equipped aircraft type and that the first commercial flight is planned for May.

The airline’s first Starlink-equipped commercial flight has been scheduled for May, just eight months after striking the deal with the SpaceX subsidiary.
