At a precipice with both market dominance and operating margin, Samsung Electronics is betting on its Galaxy S25 Edge to turn things around.

Smartphone cameras can’t change their apertures. Well, Samsung changed that when it launched the Galaxy S9. When you’d take a photo, the aperture would shift between f/1.5 and f/2.4. It would depend if the lighting conditions called for it. This is a feature that can make a camera much more versatile.

Nevertheless, it would be one way to upgrade the 200-megapixel main camera found on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. And given recent Ultra models in the Galaxy S-series have larger sensors than a lot of older Galaxy phones, greater aperture control could be more noticeable.

That wish may be granted with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, according to the Dutch site Galaxy Club. It reports that the new foldable will get the same 200MP sensor as used on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which should make a huge difference in terms of image quality, giving it the edge over folding rivals like the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold and OnePlus Open.

The Galaxy S25 flagships come with several clever new software tricks. Two of them—the Now Bar and the Now Brief—can be highly personalized.

All eyes are on the Galaxy S25 Edge and its thin design, but I think Samsung should focus more on making the Galaxy Z Flip 7 thinner.

The ultra-slim flagship will reportedly be available in Titanium Icyblue, Titanium Jetblack, and Titanium Silver colors, indicating the use of titanium in its construction, much like the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
