Emergency teams transported 16 people to the hospital after a reported accident involving an MTA bus in the Bronx on Tuesday morning, fire officials said. The incident involved a vehicle from the Department of Sanitation at Webster Avenue and East 187 Street just before 9:30 a.

Sixteen people were injured Tuesday morning during a crash between a Bx41 bus and a DSNY vehicle, the FDNY says. The FDNY says all the patients were taken to SBH Health System with non-life-threatening injuries.

There were 116 assaults on the MTA’s subway and bus workers last year, down from 169 in 2023, a 31% reduction, according to the letter. While total major felonies last year on the subway were 11.5% less than 2019 levels, there were 579 reported assaults, the most since at least 1997, according to MTA data.
