Pilots of a Delta flight taking off from Reagan National Airport (DCA) received a warning in the cockpit when an Air Force T-38 Talon jet flew by them during takeoff Friday afternoon, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The passenger jet was cleared for takeoff on Friday afternoon while four T-38 Talons were inbound to Arlington National Cemetery for a flyover.

Air traffic controllers “issued corrective instructions to both aircraft,” according to the FAA. The incident comes just two months after a midair collision above the same airport killed 67 people.
