The President of Tufts University filed a declaration in support of Rümeysa Öztürk, a student at the institution who is being detained by ICE. She was accused of supporting Hamas.

The Tufts University graduate student who was arrested off the street in Somerville, Massachusetts, by masked Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents faced a federal judge in Vermont, Judge William Sessions, over the phone this past Monday, according to My Champlain Valley reporting.

After being picked up in Massachusetts, Rumeysa Ozturk was moved to a detention center in Louisiana, where the government wants to argue its case to deport her.
