The Trump administration has rapidly expanded military deployments to Los Angeles over the past week and has said it is willing to send troops to other cities to assist with immigration enforcement and controlling disturbances — in line with what Trump promised during last year’s campaign.

The protests over immigration raids in Los Angeles intensified after President Trump called up the National Guard and have since spread to other cities, including Boston, Chicago, and Seattle.

Officials are digging in, with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth saying the president’s order to deploy the National Guard in L.A. could be rolled out elsewhere.
