At approximately 9:15 p.m., the National Weather Service in Wilmington placed multiple Ohio counties under a tornado watch until 4 a.m. Thursday.
When a warning is issued, take action. This means tornado conditions are imminent and have been spotted either by someone on the ground or by radar. Warning areas are typically smaller than those within a watch and are issued for a shorter time period, typically about 15 minutes.
Cheatham and Robertson County Schools will both be closed Friday as severe weather continues to play a significant role in the forecast. So far, Tennessee has seen several inches of rain and storm damage, and more is on the way, meteorologists warn.
If a warning is issued, we will want people to take shelter in a sturdy location, away from exterior walls and windows until that warning is expired,” meteorologist says.
According to the Indiana Michigan Power outage map, more than 8,000 Delaware County residents are without power.
