The New England Patriots may have found a diamond in the rough in Joe Milton III. The young quarterback has shown immense potential since being drafted in the sixth round last year, but he's unlikely to reach his ceiling with the organization that selected him.

New England has reportedly received multiple trade inquiries on Milton. Teams could turn to the Patriots' young backup with the 2025 NFL draft having limited options at the quarterback position. Milton showed promise when knocking off the Buffalo Bills in the regular season finale.

Milton, who saw limited playing time in 2024 behind starter Drake Maye and backup Jacoby Brissett, wants to start anew elsewhere, with a source telling Mass Live the former Tennessee product “would prefer to be on a roster that best gives him a chance to compete for the starting job.”
