OTTAWA - Nova Scotia MP Jaime Battiste is dropping out of the Liberal leadership race and throwing his support behind former Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney.

Nova Scotia MP Jaime Battiste announced Thursday he was dropping out of the race and throwing his support behind Mark Carney.

The official running consists of Liberal MPs Karina Gould, Chrystia Freeland and Jaime Battiste, former Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney, and former MPs Frank Baylis, and Ruby Dhalla.

The field currently consists of former Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney, former finance minister Chrystia Freeland, former House leader Karina Gould, Liberal MPs Jaime Battiste and Chandra Arya ...

The declared candidates include: Chrystia Freeland, Mark Carney, Karina Gould, Jaime Battiste, Frank Baylis and Ruby Dhalla. The winner will be announced March 9, the same day as the vote.
