Sgt. Gordon Blackey, once a security guard to Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, allegedly admitted to tracking the woman’s movements in her vehicle, according to a criminal complaint.

She recognized the last four digits of the phone number linked to the AirTag as Blackey's, and when she confronted him the following day, he admitted to doing so because he "cared about her."

A Minneapolis police sergeant is accused of illegally accessing a law enforcement database and then using an AirTag to track and harass a former romantic partner, who is also a coworker.

The investigation showed that beyond purchasing the AirTag, Blackey had multiple photos on his iPhone showing private information.
