At least 121 people have been killed and 173 others are missing as Texas officials deflect questions over the state’s response to the catastrophic flash floods.Kerr County remains at the center of the disaster after the Guadalupe River burst its banks on Friday.

At least 120 people have been found dead since heavy rainfall overwhelmed the river and flowed through homes and youth camps in the early morning hours of July 4. Ninety-six of those killed were in the hardest-hit county in central Texas, Kerr County, where the toll includes at least 36 children.

Crews from dozens of agencies continue to look for victims in Kerr County, nearly a week after the Guadalupe River's rise caused catastrophic flooding.
