Jaipur: Mining industry stakeholders in the state have expressed concern at the Union govt's decision to reclassify barytes, feldspar, mica, and quart.

Quartz, Felspar and Mica are found in pegmatite rocks, which are an important source of many critical minerals such as Beryl, Lithium, Niobium, Tantalum, Molybdenum, Tin, Titanium, Tungsten, etc.

The decision follows the approval of the National Critical Mineral Mission by the Union Cabinet on January 29, 2025, which aims to enhance exploration and mining of critical minerals within India.
