The move comes several months after Netflix debuted the league’s inaugural Christmas Day games on the streaming platform.
The NFL will take over Christmas Day in 2025. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the league will have three games on Christmas Day, which falls on a Thursday this year. Two games will stream exclusively on Netflix, while the third game will be the typical Thursday night game streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
"I do think, for our fans, asking them to give up Thanksgiving and Christmas to come to a game is a big ask, so I’ve tried to avoid it."
The NFL will continue its Christmas Day takeover in 2025, with three games featured throughout the day on Netflix and Amazon.
