Officers Kaid Urban, Skeeter Black, and Aaron Javier arrived at the scene, "deployed their rifles, and proceeded to the front door of the business," the news release says.

Moments later, shots could be heard over the call. At 1:39 p.m., Officers Kaid Urban, Skeeter Black, and Aaron Javier arrived at the gym. All three officers approached the front doors and saw Ortega.

Urban, 29, has been with Metro since 2020; Black, 44, since 2015; Javier, 37, since 2016, according to Assistant Sheriff Jamie Prosser.
