Former Mayor William F. Durkin remembered for ‘deeply inspired vision of what Waukegan could be’
Durkin died Thursday at Allure Nursing Home in Zion of natural causes. His funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Waukegan. He was 95.
His credits also include the animated TV specials "The Little Drummer Boy" (1968), "Frosty the Snowman" (1969), "Santa Claus ... and baseball at the University of Notre Dame.
