South Carolina women's basketball fell to Texas 66-62 Sunday in a matchup of top-10 teams, ending the Gamecocks' 57-game SEC win streak

South Carolina's women's basketball team has finally suffered a defeat in SEC play. On Sunday, the No. 2 Gamecocks fell 66-62 to No. 4 Texas, a team they beat by 17 points less than a month ago. South Carolina had won 57 straight regular season SEC games.

The Longhorns ended the Gamecocks' 57-game conference win streak in front of a sold-out crowd, as coach Dawn Staley had not lost an SEC game since December 2021. Texas guard Madison Booker led the way with 20 points, 11 rebounds and three assists while post Kyla Oldacre added 13 points, six rebounds and an assist.
