CHK_Stuck NASA astronauts return to Earth on SpaceX capsule: What to know
Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore departed the International Space Station (ISS) early on Tuesday morning and splashed down off the coast of Florida after a journey of 17 hours. Boeing’s Starliner, their original return spacecraft, was deemed unsafe for the journey home, forcing the astronauts to stay in space much longer than planned.
Hours after NASA and SpaceX's Crew-10 mission arrived at the International Space Station, Crew-9 boarded the Dragon spacecraft and undocked from the ISS en route back to Earth.
The last two SpaceX test flights both exploded over the Caribbean, causing debris to land on a number of islands.
