A preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board said the commuter plane that crashed in Alaska, killing 10, was overweight for the weather.

A small passenger plane that crashed last month in Alaska, killing all 10 onboard, was nearly 1,000 pounds too heavy for the weather conditions, according to a preliminary report on the incident released Wednesday.

The preliminary report says the small plane was too heavy for conditions that cause icing at the speed and altitude it was flying.
