Here are some of the Kickstarter projects from recent years that stand out for their tastelessness, dubious financials, or mere bad ideas.

Kickstarter will soon require generative AI projects, including projects that use generative AI tools, to disclose more info about the AI aspects of their work.

Hans G. Schantz’s illustrated novel about a biology teacher defying transgenderism had its Kickstarter project canceled after previously reaching its target goal.

Kickstarter will also ask creators to state whether they have permission to use works or data that are employed in AI-generated aspects of their projects.

According to Shaw, the projects most likely to get funded on Kickstarter aren’t necessarily those with ultra-topical plotlines or with big names like Sebastian Stan attached.
