At least 70 Palestinians were killed in airstrikes across Gaza on Thursday, after Israel resumed its bombing campaign, a Gaza health official said.

Israel's military said it had retaken part of the Netzarim Corridor that divides northern Gaza from the south, and from where it had previously withdrawn as part of a ceasefire that began in January.

Salah al-Bardaweel and his wife died in the southern city of Khan Younis, a Hamas source told the BBC.
