Max has dropped the original Warner Bros. cartoons from its lineup, which our TV critic says leaves us with the pastiche and is similar to removing books from a library.

Warner Brothers has officially removed its entire catalog of original Looney Tunes shorts from its streaming service, HBO Max. The legendary shorts spanned nearly 40 years, from 1930 to 1969, during what is considered to be a “golden age” for animation — and it should go without saying that they made Warner Brothers what it is today.

The removal of Looney Tunes from Max is not an isolated incident but the latest addition to the trend showing the steady decline of children's animation. Last year, Warner Bros. Discovery shut down Cartoon Network 's website and its Boomerang streaming service, which mainly aired classic cartoons from Warner Bros. Animation's library.
