KANSAS CITY, Mo -- C.J. Stroud did his best Patrick Mahomes impersonation and threw off his back foot for a touchdown to put the Houston Texans up 10-7 over the Kansas City Chiefs in the second quarter Saturday.
Dell suffered the injury during the Texans' 27–19 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday while he caught a 30-yard touchdown pass. His close friend and quarterback C.J. Stroud was visibly upset on the field, as he stayed close to Dell as long as he could.
Another great interaction took place inside the bowels of Arrowhead Stadium. After both had changed back into their street clothes, coach Andy Reid stopped to speak with Stroud, who is in his second season in the NFL. Stroud, the former Ohio State Buckeyes star, finished the day completing 23-of-39 passes for 244 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while adding an extra 23 rushing yards. Dell, even after missing nearly the entire second half, was still the leading receiver in the game, tallying six catches for 98 yards and a score.
