Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) postponed an immigration crackdown operation in Aurora, Colorado claiming knowledge of the effort had spread throughout the community and agents could be affected.

Officials with the U.S. Northern Command said that they started work Monday to prepare Buckley for use by Homeland Security as a temporary detention center.

Sources told NBC News that federal enforcement agencies will not conduct an operation in Aurora on Thursday as originally planned.
