In the wake of the tragic helicopter crash near Gaurikund that claimed seven lives, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced the establishment of a centralised command and coordination centre in Dehradun to oversee real-time helicopter operations in the state.
The FIR accused the operator of “gross negligence” and listed several alleged lapses. It said the helicopter took off around 50 minutes before its allotted time, during conditions of poor visibility caused by clouds and fog.

The pilot of the helicopter that crashed in Uttarakhand Sunday morning was an Army veteran from Jaipur with about 15 years of service, and had retired as a Lieutenant Colonel last year.
