The Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his band's era-defining "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" by going small, and leaving his fellow Pumpkins behind.
Billy Corgan will introduce audiences to a new project The Machines of God this summer on the 'A Return To Zero Tour'.
The frontman's new project will focus on music from "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" and the "Machina" albums as they approach milestone anniversaries.
Dubbed the Return to Zero Tour, it will be in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Smashing Pumpkins' Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and the 25th anniversary of Machina.
The tour will celebrate 30 years of “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness” and the 25 years of “Machina/The Machines of God."
A 16-show stretch of dates has just been finalized, with it being added in a press release that Corgan and his new crew will be performing songs from 1995’s Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness and 2000’s Machina/The Machines of God & Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music to celebrate their 30th and 25th anniversaries, respectively.
