Demonstrators gathered in communities large and small. Many events on the East Coast have ended, but police clashed with some protesters in L.A.

The "No Kings" protests have taken aim at President Donald Trump's policies, particularly his decision to deploy the National Guard and Marines to Los Angeles.

Thousands across the U.S. joined “No Kings” protests against President Trump, voicing anger over immigration raids and military deployment in Los Angeles. Demonstrations spanned nearly 2,000 locations nationwide.

The demonstrations follow more than a week of large-scale protests in Los Angeles against Mr. Trump’s immigration crackdown and his decision to deploy the military there. Protesters gathered in Liberty Plaza outside of the Georgia State Capitol in Downtown Atlanta.

The demonstrations come on the heels of protests flaring up around the country over federal immigration enforcement raids that began last week and Trump ordering National Guard troops and Marines to Los Angeles where protesters blocked a freeway and set cars on fire.
