After calling off school Monday through Friday due to inclement weather, JCPS officials will continue to monitor conditions and plan to issue a decision on whether students will return to classes by 5 a.m. Monday at the latest, spokesperson Carolyn Callahan said.

Students already missed a day of school in September due to forecasted inclement weather. But rather than extending the school year, board members voted in December to forgive the day for students. Employees were set to make up the day of work the week of May 27.

Louisville-area schools are watching the weather forecast as a winter storm system is expected to reach Kentucky on Friday.

JCPS says the icy side roads and anticipated snow has led the district to cancel classes for Friday, January 10, 2025. The day will be traditional snow day for students with no online learning. All JCPS employees will telecommute, and all athletic events and extracurricular activities are canceled.

JCPS students were set to return to classrooms this following the winter break, but now with more snow in the forecast, students have another snow day.
