Democrats who control Virginia’s General Assembly were in little mood to do business with Gov. Glenn Youngkin or any other Republicans on Wednesday when they returned to the state Capitol for the day to take up the governor’s proposed changes to the state budget and other legislation.

The House did not approve most of the $300 million in spending cuts that Youngkin proposed to boost the state's revenues to respond to a federal funding crisis.
