Netflix and Amazon’s Prime Video will share distribution rights to three National Football League (NFL) games played on Christmas Day, the league confirmed on Tuesday. The move comes several months after Netflix debuted the league’s inaugural Christmas Day games on the streaming platform.

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) is joining Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) in airing NFL games on Christmas, the league announced on Tuesday. Amazon's game will be a part of its Thursday Night Football package, which the e-commerce and tech giant has had since 2017 on its Prime Video service.

"I do think, for our fans, asking them to give up Thanksgiving and Christmas to come to a game is a big ask, so I’ve tried to avoid it."

The NFL will take over Christmas Day in 2025. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the league will have three games on Christmas Day, which falls on a Thursday this year. Two games will stream exclusively on Netflix, while the third game will be the typical Thursday night game streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
