Indian-origin tech companies like Infosys and TCS received a fifth of all US H1B visas in the first half of 2024, highlighting their significant role in the American tech industry.

Tech companies originating from India took over a fifth of all H1B visas issued by the US, according to a report by news agency PTI which cited an analysis by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Data from the US Citizenship and Immigration Services revealed that between April and September 2024, of 130,000 H-1B visas issued, around 24,766 (20 percent) were allocated to Indian-origin companies.
