Fifty games into the Rangers season, Adam Edstrom has played in every single one. The 6-foot-7 rookie has emerged as a defensively reliable fourth-line winger who can lead the forechecking charge and make things happen in front of the net.

New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette issues statement on fan favourite enforcer Matt Rempe's recent performance since returning from his eight-game suspension.

Matt Rempe appears to have learned his lessons, and has become an important force on the New York Rangers fourth line.

In the early minutes of the third period Tuesday, Rempe found space alongside Adam Edstrom on a rush, collected a pass and flipped the puck into the Senators net with his backhand moments later, giving the Rangers a three-goal lead. It marked just the third goal of Rempe’s career and first of the campaign.

Matt Rempe’s eight-game suspension may be the best thing to happen to the New York Rangers and the young enforcer. Rempe was suspended back in December due to a hit on Miro Heiskanen. It was a humbling experience for Rempe as he was playing in his first game after being recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack when he delivered that brutal hit.

Matt Rempe continued his resurgence with the New York Rangers, scoring his fiurst goal of the season against the Ottawa Senators.

Rempe has picked up three roughing minors and a fighting major. Equally to the point, the 22-year-old has chipped in with a goal and an assist, using his silky mitts to go up top on a backhand short side to finish a breakaway against Ottawa on Jan.
