Liverpool have concluded their first piece of January transfer business with the sale of young goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga to Fluminense. The 22-year-old Brazilian has returned to his former club on a permanent deal after more than four years on Merseyside in which he did not make a single senior competitive appearance in any competition.

Liverpool have confirmed their first business of the January transfer window with back-up goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga agreeing a permanent move to rejoin his old club Fluminense, subject to international clearance. Pitaluga joined the Reds as a 17-year-old in 2020 from the same Brazilian outfit in a deal worth up to £1.8million.
