Protesters gathered across the country on Saturday as groups demonstrated against asylum seeker housing and were met by anti-racism campaigners.

Three people have been arrested during an anti-immigration protest at a hotel near Gatwick Airport. About 200 anti-immigration protesters gathered outside the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Horley, which is used to house asylum seekers. About 30 people attended a counter-demonstration.

THE tally of arrests at a protest outside a city hotel housing asylum seekers has gone up to seven. Police have arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of a public order offence after an incident at the anti-immigration protest outside the Fownes Hotel on Wednesday evening (August 20).
