New Orleans chef Susan Spicer has been a regular contributor to the Taste of the NFL charity event at Super Bowl host cities around the country and is doing so in her hometown again this year.

Gov. Jeff Landry announced two enhanced security zones will be in effect around Bourbon Street and the Caesars Superdome throughout Super Bowl weekend.

Super Bowl host New Orleans is no stranger to thousands of out-of-town revelers descending upon the city and authorities there did not balk when asked if they’d be greasing their poles. They pointed out that an annual pole-greasing party hosted by a hotel in the French Quarter is how the city kicks off Mardi Gras.

People can expect to see more security in parts of New Orleans for the Super Bowl. Gov. Jeff Landry issued an executive order Wednesday amending the State of Emergency issued on New Year’s Day after the terror attack on Bourbon Street.

Football fans will pack New Orleans for the Super Bowl but if visitors want to make the most of their visit, they'll have to do some exploring outside of downtown.
