Davis was convicted of capital murder by a Tuscaloosa jury in May 2025 after a five-day trial and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. If Miles is convicted, he faces the same sentence, since the state is not pursuing the death penalty.

Ex- Alabama basketball player Darius Miles is set to go on trial for capital murder later this year. In court today in Tuscaloosa, Judge Daniel F. Pruet set the date for the week of Dec. 1. The trial is expected to last at least a week.
