The Reds have signed Alex Young to a minor league deal with a spring training invite, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. Young spent all of 2023 with the Reds and pitched in three games in 2024 before being traded to the Giants for Austin Slater.

Lefthander Alex Young appeare in 66 games for the Cincinnati Reds across the 2023 and 2024 seasons, and there’s a good chance he’ll add to that tally again in 2025. The Reds and Young agreed to a minor league deal on Monday afternoon.

The Reds awarded their Minor League Pitcher of the Year Award to Nestor Lorant on Saturday. Lorant pitched in 28 games across Low-A and High-A in 2024 with an ERA of just 1.68 to go along with 109 strikeouts in 96 1/3 innings.
